STARC Engineering was established in late 2013 by a group of like-minded professionals who wanted to bring modern ways of thinking to the forefront of their business. This unique blend of engineers, project managers and designers ensures greater clarity and a fuller bodied design.

With a combined 30 years’ experience in the creative and construction industry, the team at STARC can guarantee the most cost-effective and time efficient approach to the project. Working closely with both the client and associated architects, project managers and stakeholders, STARC Engineering incorporates their own knowledge and builds on providing a collaborative outcome. The company considers all factors when delivering calculations and recommendations including environmental aspects and building regulations. STARC Engineering operates at a national level which means all certification can be issued and amended to meet state-specific requirements.

Structural Design

The design of stable, strong and rigid structures capable of resisting all applied loads without failure. Residential (structural and stormwater), commercial and industrial.

Temporary Works Design

TWD uses an Engineered solution to support or protect an existing structure or the permanent works during construction.

Civil Works

Pavement slabs, driveways and structures associated with civil works (refuge islands, stormwater pits, landscape structures, culverts, retaining walls and bridges).

Demolition Works

M4 Bridge Demolition

STARC Engineering’s role was to be in full time continuous presence throughout the demolition and to provide structural advice and temporary works advice, should it be required at any time during the demolition works.

The site was located at the junction of The Northern Road, Orchard Hills and M4 Motorway, Glenmore Park and was the bridge structure over M4 Motorway on MR154 Interchange. The bridge was a four-span concrete construction bridge comprising of Primary Pre-Stressed concrete I-shaped Girders supported by discrete piers and abutments at either end. The girders were secondarily supported by cast in-situ cross beams. These cross beams picked up the loads every third ‘floating girder’ along with the adjoining girder either side.

Structural Design

We provide Engineering design, analysis, advice and design drawings at each stage of the project. Our structural team can provide certificates of adequacy for existing structures, design certification for new structures including alterations and additions to existing structures and post construction certification.
